Welcome to Bumby Cabin — a hand-crafted cabin home tucked away in the mountainous woods of Whittier, NC. Not only is this getaway highly accessible year-round, but she has the best of both worlds. Come be a part of nature — go fly fishing for trout; hike to waterfalls in Great Smoky National Park; tube down the Tuckaseegee with a panoramic mountain view. Then go explore more of what the surrounding area has to offer. Bumby cabin is less than a fifteen minute drive to the quaint downtown areas of Sylva and Dillsboro, where you can stroll along the river after enjoying local eats and drinks. In a desirable location between Bryson City and downtown Cherokee, you can spend the day shopping and dining, or check out Harrah’s Cherokee Casino. Feeling extra adventurous? Take a day trip, and explore some of the many exciting nearby cities, including Asheville, Gatlinburg, and Pigeon Forge.

Bumby cabin was lovingly renovated to accentuate the cabin feel and to create the perfect getaway atmosphere. This two bedroom, two bath cabin features a new kitchen with island, a custom daybed and reading nook. Kick off your boots and fire up the grill, taking your pick of either charcoal or propane. In the evening, spend time cozying up on the expansive, double-story deck, complete with rocking chairs and adjustable string lights. Roast marshmallows for s’mores over the fire pit while fireflies flicker through the trees. Perfect for couples or a family of up to five, there’s something for everyone at Bumby cabin.

Downtown Bryson City has an elevation of 1,752 feet, so think of this as a starting point. The majority of our cabins will have a higher elevation than this. This means that our roads- both state and private- will be steeper, narrower, and curvier than you may be use to driving. Also, you should expect to encounter gravel roads. Consider it part of our rural mountain charm!

  The cabin itself was small and cozy but the furniture was way too small to relax on. The driveway was the worst part, no way to turn around easily. Hot tub wasnt installed. I have booked vacation rentals through Yellow Rose Realty for many years, owner, Dena, is the best!! If anyone wants a vacation, she needs to be contacted!!

  The cabin was adorable and we loved staying there. The living room furniture was quite uncomfortable for watching TV. There was only two of us so we managed this issue. The washing machine was not working and although I let the office know on Monday it was not repaired while we were there.(we left Friday). The fire place had not been turned on and I reported that also but never heard back. I was told they were in the process of turning them on but never heard back. It was warm so that also was OK. The amenities were greatly appointed, plenty of towels! The kitchen was great! Overall I loved the cabin. When we travel we look for 1. Laundry 2. Fireplace and 3. a hot tub (we knew it did not have one) so to have 1 & 2 not working was disappointing. Everything was spotless except someone had put dishes away dirty. I think if these items were working everything about the stay would have been perfect!

  If you want to stay in a rustic, quiet and a clean cabin, this is the place! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again! This cabin is only a few miles from the Cherokee Reservation which allows privacy away from the crowds. The cabin had everything needed to make for a relaxing stay!

  Property was as described, it looked just like the photos. We loved the location. What you couldn't see was that it was overall uncomfortable. The very steep driveway had no place to turn around. If you did not jockey around at the top and back down you had to turn at a sharp angle going uphill to get out. The couch was uncomfortable. The TV was at an odd angle, very high and pretty far from the couch. The upstairs TV never worked. We never were able to connect to the Wifi. When we contacted Yellow Rose they said unplug for a minute & re-plug in. We had already done that, we told them and never heard from them again. There really was no place to eat, the bistro table chairs were not high enough and the stools for the table pulled out from the island were too high. There were no potholders in the kitchen. The upstairs bathroom is extremely small, the toilet paper is on the tank behind, no other place for it. One night we ran the clothes washer and the dishwasher at the same time and then sat down to watch TV - we just laughed because it was so loud, we could not hear the TV. We would go back to this area, Bryson City and Cherokee were great, loved the train ride, but while we would still look in this area, we would not stay at this property.

  I always rent from YRR and have never had an issue. Heir places are clean and well stocked. The only thing on my recent rental was that the direct tv card in the upstairs tv didn’t work and the shower head on the small bathroom didn’t work

  We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Yellow Rose Realty and the Emma's Brook cabin. I spent a lot of time researching rentals, but finally found peace of mind with this company - the staff at Yellow Rose was willing to talk with me and answer detailed questions about their properties, helping me make a great choice for our family. And we LOVED Emma's Brook. The location is just perfect - we felt like we were about 15 minutes from everything we wanted to see, with every easy access to main roads (important for us, since there were events we wanted to attend after dark), but on a property that was wooded and quiet. (There's no brook, though, if that's important to you. But it's still great!) We found Emma's Brook to be a value-packed, spotlessly clean cabin with absolutely everything we needed for our young family. (We especially enjoyed the small octagonal windows in the upstairs loft, providing a view of the trees outside - it was magical!) Yellow Rose was quick to help when we had a minor problem, a wasps' nest that developed on the property - it was gone before we got home from our adventures the next day. They took the matter so seriously that I have no doubt in their responsiveness to any larger issues that might arise, and I will definitely be booking with this company again.
