Shakon O'Hey Chalet

Shakon O'Hey Chalet offers park like views. This "cabin" has it all. The inside is tastefully decorated in mountain decor. Large pirouettes windows across the front of the home for viewing the long-range mountain views. This spacious home is great for a large family or multi-family get togethers.  To get a view that Shokon O'Hey offers you do have to drive up a "mountain road" but no worries this road is completely paved. Short ten minute drive Downtown Bryson City and other local attractions. This cabin is only rented for one week stays.

Before you pack up the car and head for the mountains, know that when we say mountains, we really mean it!

Downtown Bryson City has an elevation of 1,752 feet, so think of this as a starting point. The majority of our cabins will have a higher elevation than this. This means that our roads- both state and private- will be steeper, narrower, and curvier than you may be use to driving. Also, you should expect to encounter gravel roads. Consider it part of our rural mountain charm!

  House is beautiful and clean. It has beautiful view. the only problems were the hot tub not working correctly and the ice maker never worked in the refrig. The picture of the fire pit is misleading, its not in the back yard, its down the road so we had to drive to it so we only used it one time because of the inconvenance. Over all its a great house and well kept.

  The cabin has breath taking views. The drive up to the cabin was a little shaky on a motorcycle but we got use to it. The cabin itself was more than you could ask for.

  We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Shakon O'Hey Chalet. The house was simply stunning - wonderful architecture, lovely furniture and linens, and so, so clean! The porch, deck and living room offer stunning views of the mountains, as well as beautiful sunrises and sunsets. It's a very private property - never heard a single neighbor! The kitchen was well appointed and we cooked many meals at home. My son and his friends enjoyed the bottom floor, complete with two bedrooms, a full bath and a game room. My only suggestion is to include additional directions/reminders on how to work the hot tub and a reminder to add water to it with the hose in the garage. Although I'm now back at work, I'm still dreaming of my time at this beautiful home. Would love to return again someday. Thank you for a memorable, relaxing visit!

  The location of this property was beautiful and had everything inside that you’d need. We went on a family vacation and it was perfect for everyone. Had a decent sized area in the front for my niece and nephew to play in. The beds were super comfortable. It actually rained the entire time we were there and even snowed for a section we were so high up. But there was plenty to do even with it raining. The cabin also had several board games to play. My only compliant would have been that the hot tub wasn’t very clean. You could tell they’d just put chemicals in there because the smell was really strong but there was a good bit of dirt in it. Overall we loved the cabin and would definitely book again.
