Kathy's Deep Creek Cabin

Kathy’s Cabin is a Pet Friendly North Carolina log cabin located on a hillside in the Deep Creek area just outside of Bryson City, North Carolina. Enjoy the quiet secluded setting in the mountains and still be close to the unique shops and dining of Sylva, Dillsboro and Waynesville. Cherokee, with Harrah’s casino, is only about 15 minutes away. The Great Smoky Mountain National Park is just minutes away. There you’ll find quiet trails to waterfalls, scenic vistas, fishing and wildlife viewing. Tubing on Deep Creek is a popular pastime in the summer and a great way to cool off after hiking to the 3 waterfalls nearby. Tom’s Branch Falls, Indian Creek Falls and Juneywhank Falls (see sidebar photos) are all short easy hikes from the main trailhead just minutes from the cabin. Hikes are easy enough for the whole family.

  The cabin was very nice have no complaints there! Only issue we had was not receiving an email with the code to get in (yes we checked the spam folder) once arriving to the cabin we had to basically jump through hoops to get in contact with the owner for entry.

  Our stay at Kathy’s deep Creek cabin was absolutely amazing! The only thing was the road up should be marked as a one way so you wouldn’t pass anyone. I think it’s assumed one way but some just don’t get it!

  This was our 2nd stay at this cabin. We loved the cabin, the location, and the scenery. The living room holds a sofa and a rocker/recliner for seating. We arrived on a Wednesday evening to find the sofa was completely broken. The cushions were sagging and the springs coming out the bottom. I went to the Yellow Rose Realty Office on Thursday Morning to see if something could be done. I provided pictures and was told they would speak to the owner. I asked if someone could bring us a chair as there was only 2 of us and that’s all we really needed. I saw that the sofa had been reported in September as well. I never heard back on the sofa nor did anyone come bring us a chair.

  My family and I stayed here for 3 nights. The cabin was very well equipped and stocked with the essentials. It was clean and very inviting. Location was good, close to the city, and a park for hiking and sighting water falls. Only thing that has room for improvement are the beds, not very comfy, besides that, all was great!

  The cabin location is perfect and close enough to downtown Bryson City which is an adorable walk friendly town with cute shops and restaurants. Cherokee was a nice short ride along a scenic river with more cute shops and Indian culture. Perfect for spending the day in Gatlinburg and/or Pigeon Forge with a gorgeous 1 and 1/2 hour ride through the national forest. We just didn't get to stay long enough. Next time we'll stay longer. Horseback riding nearby and more time walking through the mountains will be on our agenda next year. The hot tub was a great way to relax. Beds were comfortable enough, clean well equipped cabin for a dog friendly cabin. Couch does need to be replaced but thats our only complaint. GPS worked fairly well and cabin has wifi. Overall, we loved every minute of our time here and will be back annually.

  Kathy's Deep Creek Cabin was everything we needed in the middle of the COVID pandemic. Secluded and surrounded by green, we spent most of our time in the hot tub, watching the birds. The beds were clean and comfortable, the area was peaceful, and we had everything we needed. We were pleasantly surprised by clean towels, an equipped kitchen, and the cozy deck. Thank you!   We stayed at Kathy's Deep Creek Hideaway for our 25 year anniversary. The cabin is pet friendly so we brought our dog Ramsay an English Springer Spaniel. We all had a fantastic time! The location is close to everything. We went hiking, site seeing, shopping and eating. The cabin was clean and no issues. We will definitely be coming back again!   Really enjoyed the stay at this mountain cabin. A few little issues with the coffee maker, the refrigerator, and the lack of trash bags would have made it absolutely perfect but a few little annoyances didn’t spoil a wonderful time.   Wish the directions were clearer on getting there (if it was dark I would have been totally lost). Also wish the front steps down to the deck were in better shape, very scarry to use in the dark (even with the motion detected lights)

  Very nice property! Could use some TLC from owner in the way of furniture replacement-couch, recliner, a few lamps. Pet odor evident. But property itself is quite nice. Hot tub was an added bonus!
