Before you pack up the car and head for the mountains, know that when we say mountains, we really mean it!

Downtown Bryson City has an elevation of 1,752 feet, so think of this as a starting point. The majority of our cabins will have a higher elevation than this. This means that our roads- both state and private- will be steeper, narrower, and curvier than you may be use to driving. Also, you should expect to encounter gravel roads. Consider it part of our rural mountain charm!

  We did experience a few issues while here. There was a cabinet in the kitchen that appeared to be falling off the wall so we unloaded the heavy dishes from it, The basement AC was not working. I reported the issues to the rental company and was told someone would come out, however, we never saw anyone and nothing was fixed while we were there. Saying the cabin is walking distance is true, but not really an option considering the very steep hill the house is on. Overall the stay went well but I wish our concerns about the cabinet and AC had been addressed.

  Great location, but the house seems to not be maintained very well. When we got there, it was late and the house was full of spiders, spider webs, bugs and did not seem to have been completely cleaned. I don't think it had be occupied for about 3 weeks. We went to Yellow Rose Real Estate the next morning and they put us in the house next door and had the house thoroughly cleaned. Yellow Rose did a great job trying to accommodate us and resolve the issues. They were very willing to help us out and fix any problems. My rating is just on the house, not the rental company. It does have a new washer and dryer that is in the downstairs bedroom. The hot tub is not available to use. The house just seems to need maintenance inside and outside. There were sugar ants, spiders, water bugs so we had to buy bug spray to control them.
