Before you pack up the car and head for the mountains, know that when we say mountains, we really mean it!

Downtown Bryson City has an elevation of 1,752 feet, so think of this as a starting point. The majority of our cabins will have a higher elevation than this. This means that our roads- both state and private- will be steeper, narrower, and curvier than you may be use to driving. Also, you should expect to encounter gravel roads. Consider it part of our rural mountain charm!

  The description for this property is badly in need of rewriting. It is advertised as two bedrooms, one bath. Actually it has two baths and a third room upstairs which is a sitting room with a sleeper sofa. The check-out instructions make a big to-do over placing bagged garbage in a large blue trash can. There is NO large blue trash can on the property. The instructions also state that only one garbage bag is provided and "after that, you are responsible." Come on! Given the low price of garbage bags is this harsh, unwelcoming language necessary? Is it even wise for a company in the hospitality business? Also, what does the guest get for the $100+ "required fees?"

  Nice rental that sleeps 5 comfortably with (relatively) easy access to the NOC area. It is a “refuge” on Silvermine, but ‘connected’ it is NOT; be aware you have NO cell phone coverage, NO WiFi, and NO LAN Line phone at this location. This actually became an issue when power went out after a very hard thunderstorm. We had no way to contact anyone and were lucky we could drive down the (now) somewhat washed out gravel road to find power. The property was very nice, clean and well appointed, and it’s location is good, but due to its lack of phone, WiFi, or cell service, we felt a bit too vulnerable to the hazards of living in a rainy gorge...this is why I rate it a 3-star in the Convenience & Safety category.
