Welcome to The Lazy Bear Retreat, an amazing two-bedroom, two-bathroom Smoky Mountain cabin rental surrounded by a serene forest setting and a peaceful running stream. Inside, a breathtaking wall of windows floods the bright, open living space with natural light, featuring a cozy fireplace, flat-screen TV, complimentary high-speed internet, and a fully equipped kitchen and dining area for effortless meal prep. Upstairs, the loft master bedroom boasts a king-sized bed and a quiet space to relax, while the front deck offers the ideal spot to sip morning coffee, take in the crisp air, and immerse yourself in nature with all the comforts of home.

Location: Bryson City- All Vehicle accessible, including motorcycles.

o 20 minutes to Great Smoky Mountain Railroad
o 15 minutes to Nantahala Outdoor Center
o 1 hour and 30 minutes from Gatlinburg

Amenities Provided: Cabins include basic linens, kitchenware, and a starter supply of paper products and toiletries. Guests are responsible for additional supplies.

o Minimum Age: Minimum age to rent is 25
o Pet Policy: This cabin is pet friendly. We do charge a $75 (non-refundable) pet fee, per pet.
o Wi-Fi: This cabin includes Wi-Fi for your convenience. Please keep in mind that mountain weather can occasionally cause brief service interruptions. Wi-Fi is always available at our office and throughout downtown.
o Concierge Services: Grocery delivery, celebration packages, early check in/late check out. Additional fees apply. Based on availability and cleaning schedule.

  Nice place to stay if you want quiet and secluded. Very clean and comfortable. Had to call management company once but they responded quickly and resolved issue. I would say that if you want to completely unplug, this is the place. The WIFI is very poor so you couldn't stream movies or even use cell phone.

  Had a great time at the Lazy Bear Retreat recently. Tucked into the hills it was cozy and the perfect thing for our group. Worked great as a base to explore the beautiful area.

  The cabin was nice and cozy and clean. The staff is very quick to respond to emails and help you in any way that they can. I would definitely rent from Yellow Rose the next time we come up this way. We loved that the cabin was well off the beaten path. It was just like it was listed. Next time we might stay more town central just to do something different. The 24 minute windy drive is nice and pretty though and we were able to see wildlife daily.

  Cute cabin. Spent the week hiking in GSMNP with family. Interesting drive to the location with a lot of S curves for miles. Cannot see the neighbors and saw plenty of wildlife. Would have liked a better internet connection, VERY slow and will cut out with weather. Overall, great place but is a good 20+ minutes away from most anything but for me, that is what I was looking for.

  Absolutely beautiful cabin & atmosphere. You can definitely relax & enjoy the beauty & sounds of nature sitting on the porch. The top of driveway is really rough so be very cautious. Make sure you have everything you need. Closest store is about 20 mins away both ways up & down the mountain. Over all cabin is amazing & we enjoyed very much! Thank you

  The location was nice and we had no trouble using GPS for directions. The cabin was clean and nice. Only a few suggestions to make it better. One, the fire pit was not very safely accessible and when we got down there, the gas tank was empty. Very disappointing.
  The ceiling fan in the LR didn't work, or at least we could never figure it out. You also need a vent over the stove. It would also be a good idea to clean out the shower heads as the water pressure is extremely poor. The twin beds were so low to the ground our adult bodies had trouble getting in and out of them but they would be fine for children.
  We sincerely enjoyed the stay and would like to come back again.

  The house was immaculate and the beds were very comfortable. There are 2 bdrms downstairs and a loft with a king size bed and separate bath upstairs. The road the house is on is insanely curvy and would be fun for a motorcycle. The surrounding towns of Bryson City, Cherokee, and Franklin had good food and shops. Gatlinburg was 1h 15min away and an easy drive. We really enjoyed the NC side of the Smokies. The washer and dryer were out of order, which made us do some sink-washing of clothes. The office didn't respond when we called them and asked for help with the washer. The house was well-supplied, but they gave us 2 trash bags and 2 pods for the dishwasher. Not really enough for a week stay with 4 people, but that was less inconvenient than the broken washer and dryer.

  We loved the location and amenities, but only wished we'd been told beforehand that the washer/dryer weren't working and both propane tanks were empty. That meant no outdoor grilling or fire pit, which were two big reasons why we rented this cabin in the first place. An email to management unfortunately produced no reply.
