While hiking the property, you might see remnants of an old hiking trail that used to climb high up on the ridgetop but was lost to the windswept elements. Today, this trail is home to the native wildlife.

High Hollow Cottage features a main-level bedroom. No stair-climbing required! A comfy bed topped with a charming country quilt, windows to open at night, and a full-bath ensure that you won’t want for a thing when you retire for the evening.

The private setting will lure you outdoors throughout your visit. Enjoy them from the covered deck on rainy days and the open deck to gaze at the stars, breathe in that mountain air, listen to sounds of the babbling creek that is nearby, and relax in the abundant seating areas.   We enjoyed our stay at High Hollow very much. The drive up was a little sketchy and made my palms sweat but that’s probably because I’m not from the mountains. Other than that we loved the cottage and everything it had to offer. Would definitely recommend to others for both location and privacy.

  We enjoyed our stay here. Home was very clean and comfortable for 2 people. It's actually like a tiny house trailer, but bigger than most you see on TV. Hot tub was great and grilling out on the charcoal grill was nice. Only negative is the bed, very uncomfortable, huge indention in the center so kept fighting to keep from rolling into the center. Other than that, we would certainly stay again as long as there is a new bed!

  The High Hollow Cottage was super-clean, and well-equipped with lots of thoughtful touches. Everything was as described and as pictured, and the property managers were great with communication. The cottage is very modern and felt spacious despite being a type of "tiny house." I would say that the bed was a bit on the soft side, and perhaps could use a sturdier frame, but it was comfortable and cozy. The kitchen had anything you might need to cook with and there was a grill outside (though we didn't use it). The Cottage is in a lovely, secluded spot, and had amazing winter views of mountains. So peaceful with the sound of stream and the birds, and nothing else. We loved the two covered porches, the fire pit and the hot tub! We were fortunate to have great weather for our stay, and the star-gazing was amazing!! We're hoping to come back again!!

  The High Hollow Cottage was the perfect place to celebrate our anniversary. We loved the location & highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a secluded National Forest getaway. Note: If traveling by motorcycle like we did on this trip, my Husband (highly experienced & has been riding bikes since he was a teen & we are in our late 50s) - he rated the level of skill needed to maneuver the driveway, from the turn off to the cottage, a 7 with 10 being most difficult for experienced riders.

  This is a great private cabin in the woods. Even at night you can barely see the homeowners house down the hill. When I got to the cabin and I walked inside I just immediately relaxed it was an oasis after a long trip.
  The hot tub was a great feature to help relax and unwind and get ready for all the fun that can be had around this house.
  This is a great location for the nantahala outdoor center nantahala River Fontana dam Fontana lake
  Lake Santeetla. Tsali bike trails. For me and my stay this was a perfect location.

  We very much enjoyed staying at High Hollow Cabin. The quiet area was great for the purpose of our getaway, to decompress and be surrounded by nature. Hikes are accessible nearby by car.   Pictures don’t do it justice. Once you’re there it has such a modern clean and vacation feel to it. We absolutely loved it and wish we had been able to stay longer. Make sure you bring some coffee filters.
